Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic Level 2 to support equipment reliability and minimize downtime in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for mechanical repairs, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and supporting facility maintenance needs. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform timely repairs on machinery and equipment
- Assemble parts and machines as needed
- Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections
- Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues
- Maintain conveyors, gearboxes, chains, sprockets, and related components
- Perform minor fabrication, welding (MIG/arc), and pipe installation
- Assist with facility maintenance work orders and renovations
- Ensure equipment is fully operational before returning to service
- Complete daily work logs, work orders, and documentation accurately
- Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times
- Assist contractors, vendors, and support training of new team members
- Follow all safety, quality, and environmental procedures
Qualifications & Requirements
- Strong commitment to safety, including lockout/tagout procedures
- Reliable attendance and flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or varied schedules
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions
- Basic math, English, and computer skills
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Detail-oriented and able to prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (team lift for heavier items)
- Ability to bend, twist, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
- Comfortable working in uncontrolled temperatures and around hot equipment
- Must provide own basic mechanic tools (hand tools, power tools, flashlight, etc.)
- Forklift operation required (certification provided if needed)
Technical Skills
- Mechanical troubleshooting and repair
- Pneumatics and hydraulics
- Basic electrical knowledge (checking voltage, ohming motors/fuses, resetting drives)
- Welding (MIG and arc)
- Blueprint and drawing interpretation
- Cutting torch and fabrication experience
