JOB SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Mechanic will interact with the leadership group, production team, quality assurance and other maintenance technicians to improve and maximize facility output, efficiency, quality, and safety.
Duties include but are not limited to, design, production, and installation of stainless-steel food processing equipment, and facility support equipment. Duties performed in a high-volume manufacturing environment where individuals are involved with overhauling equipment and the installation of new equipment.
MAJOR FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES will include the following (but
are not limited to):
- Perform various duties to install and maintain production equipment and the facility’s equipment.
- Conducts machine set-up, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance service.
- Provides emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and
performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Prepares and sets-up machinery for scheduled production runs.
- Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, and hydraulic troubleshooting,
and repair of packaging and production equipment.
- Performs electrical troubleshooting and repair on various equipment and building maintenance.
- Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
- Will use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Safely operate and repair forklift.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Perform repairs and maintenance as necessary to maintain production at target efficiency.
- Perform preventative maintenance, repair, and inspect production equipment for leaks and cracks.
- Work with the Production Team on continuous improvement initiatives to solve problems on allequipment.
- Provide line support for changeovers by understanding total process layouts and be able to maximize efficiency through optimal interface.
REQUIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- Successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screening
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
- Must be able to adequately read and write English
- Ability to perform the essential duties of the job with or without accommodation.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a maintenance mechanic/technician role in
manufacturing.
- Electrical training/experience.
- Background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs, and proceduresrequired.
- Experience operating forklift equipment. Forklift certified preferred.
- Ability to successfully multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Satisfactorily completes training courses as determined by management.
- Technical knowledge of production related equipment with maintenance experience with production equipment.
- Work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Able to meet physical demands in the work environment as generally described below.

FOOD SAFETY & QUALITY Requirements/Responsibilities:
- Adheres to all Food Safety and Quality SOPs.
- Accurately completes required Food Safety and Quality records.
Communicates any known or suspected Food Safety/Quality issues to the Q.A. Manager and Department Manager.
- Attends all Food Safety and Quality training sessions.
TRAINING and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3-4 years related experience.
- Working knowledge of food manufacturing equipment.
- Additional trainings will be provided to all employees thoroughly to ensure understanding and competence in all facets of the company’s maintenance expectations.
WORK SCHEDULE:
- This position requires that employees work Monday through Friday, including Saturdays and Sundays when necessary, depending on the production schedule. May include some Holidays.
- Hours may vary per day or as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.
- Overtime as needed with or without prior notice.
- Regular and Reliable Attendance is required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- A high-volume environment.
- Exposure to extreme cold (-20F) when needed.
- Required to wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for general job
duties.
