Keeping all equipment in good running condition. Communicating to Supervisor/Manager on potential problems or areas of concern. Improve the uptime and reduce the cost of the mill by gaining a thorough knowledge of standard practices and tools and terminology of the electrical aspect of the mill, skill in the use of electrical maintenance, preventative maintenance and equipment repair.
Responsibilities:
Observes mechanical operation in the Mill to determine efficiency and to detect problems.
Gives full support to the mill to include daily inspections, walk through, documenting/reporting issues found and provide a quick immediate response to all mill maintenance needs in the event of any unexpected downtime.
Always wear a plant radio to allow proper communication for a quick response to any unplanned downtime event.
Must have knowledge and experience with PLC's, Motors, Transformers, MCC's and typical sensors/switches found in automated manufacturing processes.
Rebuild and sustain critical mill-based parts such as pinions, gearboxes, cylinders both pneumatic and hydraulic, rollers, bearings, shafts, and other misc. parts as needed.
Very close communication with the warehouse to ensure all rebuild parts such as seals, rings, cups, bearings, packing, pins, gears, and all other parts needed.
Read work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenances
Inspect or test damaged machine parts, mark defective areas, advise supervisors of repair needs.
Reassemble machines after the completion of repair and or maintenance work.
Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair, using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes or hoists.
Install, replace or change machine parts and attachments, according to productions specifications.
Collaborate with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts or equipment.
Inventory and requisition machine parts, equipment, and other supplies so that stock can be maintained and replenished.
Record production, repair, and machine maintenance information
Set up and operate machines, adjust controls to regulate operations.
Flexible to support other areas of maintenance within the company as needed.
Standard 40-hour work week, OT may be required.
Qualifications:
****Related on-the-job experience, Vocational School or associate degree a strong plus
Proven longevity at previous positions
Attention to detail.
Knowledge and ability to use hand and power tools.
Knowledgeable in proper alignment of bearings and other precision components
Welding a strong plus
Basic electrical abilities 110- 220- and 480-volt systems.
Knowledgeable in Hydraulic and pneumatic operating systems and components
Lock out/Tag out.
Critical Thinking, using logic and reasoning. Alternative solutions, conclusion, and approaches to problems.
Judgment and Decision making, considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the appropriate one.
Troubleshooting, ability to determine causes and deciding what to do.
Strong communication and organizational skills
Pay:
$29-32/hr based on experience
