Maintains the physical and cleanliness conditions of the hotel's public areas, guest rooms, and back of the house according to operating and safety standards, ensuring that service requests and repairs are made correctly and in a timely manner. Cleans and maintains the hotel lobby and other public areas throughout the property to established standards to assure guest satisfaction. Drives guests to and from the airport, area businesses, and other locations. Makes basic repairs on an on-call basis to guest room issues (TV/HVAC/Plumbing), etc., will train. The Maintenance staff at the Best Western Plus Grant Creek Inn runs 24/7; as such, we are hiring for a variety of shifts and hours. Candidate must be very reliable and punctual, as essential hotel functions rely on their dependability. Responsibilities: • Handle additional maintenance tasks as needed • Record when any equipment was serviced and repairs were made • Develop and execute preventative maintenance measures to keep our equipment operating efficiently and prevent any safety risks • Check the building for any damage to doors, windows, walls, and make any repairs as needed • Conduct routine maintenance on equipment and systems such as HVAC units, plumbing fixtures, and electrical wiring to make sure they’re operating efficiently and make any needed repairs • May perform general carpentry, tiling, painting, and wall surface repairs (experience is helpful but not required) • Completes maintenance request forms • Cleans and maintains the lobby and other public areas to ensure a safe and clean experience for hotel guests, associates, and vendors • Vacuums and/or sweeps all floor surfaces • Complete and document pool readings (will train) • Transports guests to and from the airport and other locations as requested, while demonstrating all common courtesies and obeying driving and traffic laws (valid, clean driver’s license/record) • Responds in a timely, courteous manner to guests' questions, complaints, or requests • Maintain guests' privacy • Properly maintains tools, workspaces, and equipment • Maintain a high level of professional appearance and demeanor • Performs other duties as assigned, responds on a radio/on-call basis Qualifications: • Over 2 years of maintenance experience • Must be able to demonstrate advanced understanding of maintenance equipment, techniques and procedures • Stellar communication skills, attention to detail, and work ethic • Applicants should have knowledge of air conditioning units, plumbing systems, and electrical systems • Has high school diploma, GED, or equivalent • Problem-Solving Skills • Interpersonal Skills (Connecting with Guests on a comfortable, personal level) • Technical and Computer Skills • Knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry is helpful but not required • Experienced with general maintenance tools • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. • Multi-tasking/Working under pressure in a fast-paced environment • Caring and compassionate attitude • Knowledge of the surrounding area and events • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays • Reliability and punctuality Compensation: $16 - $17 hourly
