About the Role

Little Scholars of Detroit is seeking a dependable and motivated Maintenance Personnel team member.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance, minor repairs, and general upkeep of building systems, classrooms, offices, playgrounds, and outdoor areas.

Conduct regular inspections to identify and address safety, cleanliness, or maintenance concerns promptly.

Assist with plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, lighting, and general repair needs as assigned.

Ensure all indoor and outdoor areas are clean, safe, organized, and free from hazards.

Support classroom setup, furniture movement, event preparation, and facility organization.

Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff, administration, and program leadership.

Maintain maintenance equipment, tools, and supply inventory while reporting replacement needs.

Assist with seasonal duties including snow removal, salting walkways, and outdoor maintenance.

Monitor heating, ventilation, air conditioning, lighting, and security systems for proper operation.

Work collaboratively with outside contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or facility projects.

Follow all Little Scholars of Detroit policies, OSHA safety standards, and Michigan childcare licensing regulations.

Support emergency preparedness efforts and ensure exits, hallways, and emergency routes remain clear at all times.

Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation preferred.

Ability to pass required background checks and comply with all childcare licensing requirements.
