    Summary:

    Our award-winning client is seeking a Maintenance Superintendent to join their team. You will be responsible for leading a multi-shift team, overseeing the maintenance of a diverse asset base including heavy mobile equipment, stationary processing systems, and underground hoisting infrastructure while managing budgets, inventory, and strategic projects.

    This role is a critical position reporting directly to the General Manager, with a mandate to drive safety, efficiency, and operational excellence across the entire site.


    Responsibilities:

    • Leadership & Safety:

      • Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing maintenance team (mechanics, electricians, etc.) across a 3-shift operation, including rotating on-call duties.

      • Champion a world-class safety culture, ensuring strict adherence to all safety procedures and maintaining a safe work environment for all personnel.

      • Foster a positive labor relations climate and promote strong teamwork across all departments.


    • Maintenance & Reliability:

      • Develop, refine, and execute Preventive (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) programs to maximize asset uptime and reliability.

      • Oversee maintenance for all key assets, including mobile fleet (loaders, dozers), stationary equipment (crushers, conveyors), hoists, and plant utilities.

      • Utilize root cause analysis to minimize repeat equipment failures and drive continuous improvement in maintenance practices.

      • Directly manage the storeroom operations, spare parts inventory, and the procurement process to ensure parts availability and cost efficiency.


    • Financial & Strategic Management:

      • Manage the department budget, identify opportunities for cost reduction, and execute capital projects aimed at improving operational efficiency.

      • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across all maintenance functions, leveraging data and best practices to enhance efficiency and reliability.

      • Oversee effective planning and scheduling of all maintenance work.


    Required Qualifications:

    • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial) is preferred, or an equivalent combination of technical training and relevant industry experience.

    • 10+ years of progressive experience in industrial maintenance or reliability, with a strong preference for continuous process environments.

    • 7+ years of direct leadership experience supervising multi-craft, multi-shift maintenance teams.

    • 5+ years of direct experience within the mining industry, with significant exposure to underground mining operations and hoisting systems preferred.

    • Expert-level knowledge and practical experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

    • Exceptional planning, problem-solving, and communication skills; must be a highly motivated and independent self-starter.


    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and work in varying temperature environments.

    • Ability to climb ladders/stairs and safely lift to 50 lbs.

    • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening, physical, and background check is required.
