OVERVIEW
Oversee daily operations related to facility systems and utility services to maintain safe, dependable, and efficient performance of site-wide equipment. Emphasis is placed on steam production systems, thermal equipment, and automated control processes. Acts as the primary internal expert on heating systems, combustion processes, and utility performance improvements. Responsible for planning maintenance strategies, maintaining compliance with applicable regulations, and supporting ongoing system enhancements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as the primary technical resource for steam systems, water supply processes, and combustion-related equipment.
- Supervise the operation of critical infrastructure such as heating units, cooling equipment, compressed air systems, and water management systems.
- Diagnose equipment issues, identify underlying causes, and implement performance improvements.
- Maintain and enhance automated control platforms used to operate facility systems, including updates, calibration, and upgrades.
- Conduct routine reviews and inspections, including maintenance planning, safety checks, operational walkthroughs, peer evaluations, spare parts planning, and startup support.
- Design and manage maintenance strategies focused on prevention, prediction, and long-term reliability.
- Introduce new processes or systems to improve equipment uptime and efficiency.
- Coordinate large-scale repair work, planned outages, and third-party service activities.
- Troubleshoot system controls, network communications, and alarm conditions.
- Ensure all operations meet applicable legal and regulatory requirements at all levels.
- Keep accurate records for inspections, certifications, and compliance reviews.
- Promote a strong safety mindset, including adherence to safe work practices and hazard awareness.
- Oversee treatment and monitoring of water systems to maintain operational integrity and environmental standards.
- Implement changes aimed at reducing downtime and extending the lifespan of equipment.
- Provide support to additional locations when specialized assistance is needed.
- Follow all applicable workplace policies, procedures, and regulatory expectations.
- Support initiatives related to safety, product quality, and cleanliness standards.
- Complete additional responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Education: Secondary education or equivalent required; higher education preferred or comparable work experience.
- Experience: Extensive background (typically 7–10+ years) in industrial maintenance, utilities, or facility operations, including several years working with steam or heating systems.
- Certifications: Not required.
