That’s why we’re looking for a skilled and service-driven Maintenance Supervisor to lead our onsite maintenance team and ensure the reliability, safety, and appeal of our apartment community.
Compass Communities is hiring a Maintenance Supervisor who will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of maintenance operations, from day-to-day service requests to long-term preventative maintenance planning. This position is ideal for an experienced professional with a hands-on approach, a solid understanding of HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems, and a passion for delivering high-quality service to residents and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the maintenance team to ensure prompt completion of work orders, unit turns, and preventative tasks.
- Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs for building systems and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems using diagnostic tools like voltmeters and ohmmeters.
- Oversee maintenance of HVAC systems and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Conduct regular property inspections to identify potential hazards, maintenance needs, and opportunities for improvement.
- Manage projects related to facility improvements, renovations, and vendor coordination—on time and within budget.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, inventory, inspections, and safety procedures.
- Collaborate with the Community Lead and other team members to prioritize tasks and uphold Compass Communities’ quality standards.
- Support and train maintenance team members, promoting a safe and efficient work environment.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a maintenance leadership role within multifamily, facilities, or industrial environments.
- Deep knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, low voltage, plumbing, and mechanical operations.
- Skilled in diagnostics, troubleshooting, and safe use of tools and equipment.
- Strong project management skills, with experience managing timelines and vendor partnerships.
- Ability to effectively lead, motivate, and develop a diverse maintenance team.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- EPA Certification (HVAC) and CPO (Certified Pool Operator) required.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs, work in outdoor and indoor environments, and respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
Compensation:
- Base salary depends on overall experience - $60K+
