    Maintenance Technician Trainee

    Faribault, MN | Contract-to-hire | Rotating 12-Hour Shift | $24/hr–$30/hr + OT

    Konik is partnering with a growing food manufacturing company to add Maintenance Technician Trainees to their operations team. This role is designed for mechanically inclined individuals looking to build a long-term career in industrial maintenance through hands-on training, mentorship, and exposure to high-volume manufacturing equipment and systems.

    This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong mechanical aptitude who wants to develop skills in hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and industrial maintenance within a stable manufacturing environment.

    Schedule

    • Rotating 12-hour schedule - 6 AM - 6 PM
    • Rotating schedule example: 3-on / 2-off / 2-on rotation with alternating 36-hour and 48-hour work weeks

    Responsibilities

    • Participate in a structured maintenance training program focused on industrial maintenance fundamentals
    • Shadow experienced maintenance technicians, mechanics, supervisors, and engineering staff
    • Assist with troubleshooting and repairing production equipment and processing systems
    • Learn preventive maintenance procedures and CMMS systems
    • Support maintenance activities involving pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
    • Assist with equipment adjustments, installations, and repairs
    • Learn safe maintenance practices within a USDA-regulated food manufacturing environment
    • Support plant housekeeping, safety, and GMP initiatives
    • Work closely with production and maintenance teams to support operational uptime

    Qualifications

    • 1+ years of manufacturing, mechanical, maintenance, automotive, fabrication, or industrial experience preferred
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn industrial maintenance systems
    • Interest in developing troubleshooting skills involving hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, and mechanical equipment
    • Food manufacturing experience is a plus but not required
    • Technical school, maintenance coursework, or industrial training is beneficial
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
    • Strong attendance, reliability, and teamwork skills
