Job Summary Growing, family-owned property management and development company, in business for more than 40 years with a large portfolio of historic buildings, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team! You’ll make sure the building systems in our properties are functioning properly, respond to maintenance requests, and conduct routine maintenance on equipment to keep it running smoothly. Responsibilities
Conduct routine maintenance on equipment and building systems such as HVAC units, plumbing fixtures, and electrical wiring to make sure they’re operating efficiently and make any needed repairs
HVAC skills needed include minor troubleshooting, clearing condensate lines, replacing condensate pumps, replacing thermostats, and bleeding radiators and relighting boilers
Electrical skills needed include replacing switches and outlets, installing light fixtures and ceiling fans
Plumbing skills needed include drain clearing, replacing toilets and tank parts, repair or replace plumbing lines and fixtures (pipe segments, shut off valves, mixing valves, faucets) replacing water heaters and relighting pilots
Appliance skills needed include repair and replacing parts (handles, knobs, drawers) and installation of new appliances
Minor carpentry skills desired like adjusting or replacing door hinges, closers, and handles as well as installing bathroom accessories (towel bars & tp holders).
Respond to tenant submitted maintenance requests as needed, communicate with tenants as necessary and report to management with any issues.
Qualifications
High school diploma/GED or equivalent
At least 2 years of maintenance experience
Knowledge of heating and air conditioning units, plumbing systems, and electrical systems
Understanding of maintenance equipment, procedures, and techniques
Available to be on call (1 week every 3-4 months and 1 holiday every 2 years) and respond to maintenance requests on nights and weekends
Excellent work ethic, communication skills, time management skills, and attention to detail
