  • Responsibilities

    ChemRite CoPac is looking for a Maintenance Technician, responsible for supporting a GMP-regulated liquid blending and filling manufacturing operation that provides contract packaging, blending, and filling services for OTC, cosmetic, and specialty chemical products. ChemRite CoPac partners with customers to manufacture high-quality liquid products across a variety of package types while maintaining strict adherence to FDA, GMP, and customer-specific quality requirements.

    This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production, packaging, and facility equipment, with a strong emphasis on executing and adhering to the site’s Preventive Maintenance (PM) program. The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing unplanned downtime, supporting compliant operations, and protecting product quality and customer trust.

    Basic Qualifications - Required:

    • High school diploma or GED required
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel) for documentation, communication, and data entry.
    • 2–5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a GMP or regulated manufacturing environment
    • Able to work first shift and some overtime if needed. Hourly details will be provided at time of interview.

    Basic Qualifications - Preferred:

    • Technical school certification, apprenticeship, or associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Technology, Electrical Technology, Machine repair, or a related field is a plus.
    • Prior experience supporting pharmaceutical, cosmetic, OTC, food, or chemical operations preferred
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish encouraged

    Key Responsibilities:

    **** Manufacturing Equipment:

    • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on liquid blending and filling equipment.
    • Repairs and maintains production equipment such as fillers, cappers, labelers, tape machines, pumps, and blending tanks.
    • Support daily equipment changeovers, setups, and adjustments to ensure smooth production operations.
    • Respond to unplanned equipment downtime and perform root cause troubleshooting to minimize production impact.
    • Perform basic fabrication, part replacement, alignment, lubrication, and calibration support as required.
    • On the job training will be provided for all specialized equipment.
    • Sets up daily production lines to run at set speed and quoted efficiency; monitors lines hourly to ensure equipment is running properly.
    • Respond quickly to mechanical issues, identifies problems and appropriate solutions.
    • Execute scheduled Preventive Maintenance activities on manufacturing, filling, packaging, and utility equipment per approved PM procedures and schedules.
    • Perform all work in accordance with GMP, FDA, and company quality standards.
    • Maintain equipment in a clean, sanitary, and inspection-ready condition always.
    • Maintain tools, spare parts, and maintenance areas in an organized and compliant manner.
    • Ensure maintenance activities do not compromise product quality, safety, or regulatory compliance.
    • Adhere to all safety policies, including LOTO, and PPE requirements.

    Building Maintenance:

    • Support facility projects, renovations, and equipment installations
    • Ensure facility systems are maintained in a GMP-compliant, clean, and inspection-ready condition
    • Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and preventative maintenance activities
    • Respond to facility repair requests in a timely manner to support safe and efficient operations
    • Conduct routine inspections of the facility to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, or compliance risks
    • Maintain and repair facility utilities such as HVAC, compressed air, water, steam, and electrical distribution systems
    • Perform routine and corrective maintenance on building systems including walls, floors, doors, docks, and structural components
