Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance to ensure the efficient operation and upkeep of production machinery and equipment. This role spans multiple systems—including extruders, auxiliary equipment, reduction equipment, pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems—supporting continuous production flow and adherence to safety standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- ****Repairs machinery or mechanical equipment which involves
- Diagnosing of electrical and mechanical issues on related machinery and equipment
- Dismantling or partially dismantling of machines and performing necessary repairs using a mix of hand and power tools
- Replacing broken, worn out, or defective parts with items obtained from stock
- Reassembling machines and making all necessary adjustments for operation
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance tasks to machines, forklifts, and the facility
- Work with production and quality teams to minimize equipment downtime
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Utilization of maintenance management software to complete tasks and work orders
- Examining and inspecting machines and equipment for defects, or issues that can cause damage or quality control problems

- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Preferred experience
- The ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics
- Understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and pumping systems
- Electronic experience (i.e. PLC, controls)
- Welding and fabrication
- Basic Plumbing knowledge
Physical Demands
- Regular standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and manual handling of tools and equipment.
- Lift/move up to 25 lbs regularly; occasionally up to 75 lbs.
Work Environment
Exposure to manufacturing environments with loud noise, moving machinery, and temperature variations.
Required PPE: safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, hearing protection.
Work near moving mechanical equipment and in varying environmental conditions.
