    Summary of Position

    As a Maintenance Technician at ARTISAN, you play a critical role in protecting, maintaining, and enhancing the value of our communities while helping residents feel truly at home. This position requires well-rounded maintenance skills, a strong sense of ownership, and a commitment to providing responsive, high-quality service.

    Principal Accountabilities

    • Perform all work in accordance with ARTISAN policies and procedures, as well as all relevant federal, state, and local laws (including Fair Housing, ADA, and FCRA).
    • Maintain community buildings, equipment, and grounds to support operational and resident satisfaction goals.
    • Follows practices for the safe operation, maintenance, and repair of all facility equipment, including compliance with health, safety programs, policies, procedures, reports. Responds to work orders in a timely manner, including after hours on-call maintenance requests and participates in the on-call rotation.
    • Inspect common areas and residential units to identify and address maintenance issues proactively.
    • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair HVAC systems, appliances, plumbing, and electrical systems.
    • Complete building repairs such as drywall, flooring, doors, hardware, windows, screens and more.
    • Maintain pools/spas, chemicals, logs, and associated safety equipment (where applicable).
    • Keep tools and storage areas organized and secure.
    • Participate in required ARTISAN training and development programs.
    • Other duties as assigned

    Physical Demands of the Position

    A Maintenance Technician will be exposed to constant activity that requires intermittent standing, bending, crouching, pushing, pulling, lifting, moving, carrying light and heavy loads, climbing stairs and ladders. A working knowledge of OSHA safety requirements is expected, and adherence to ARTISAN and regulatory safety protocols is required.

    Requirements

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Proven experience as maintenance technician in residential, commercial, or facility settings
    • Proficiency in basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and appliance repair
    • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues independently
    • Communication and time management skills
    • Preferred certifications: CAMT, EPA, CPO, boiler license, or related licenses/certifications
    • Basic computer proficiency preferred
