Job Summary The Facilities Technician is responsible for ensuring that the property is in excellent condition for guest and associates. Under the direction of the General Manager, you would be responsible for maintaining all equipment, systems and building components, including, but not limited to, mechanical and electrical systems, pumps, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, locks, furniture, paint, wall coverings, tile and other equipment. Responsibilities
Work independently while completing various maintenance tasks in guest rooms and hotel buildings including; minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, furniture assembly, etc. as needed
Troubleshooting and repairs of low-level plumbing, HVAC, painting and sheet rock repair.
Assist in troubleshooting issues that require a skilled maintenance repair or contractor repair.
Carry out routine checks and maintenance work for the assigned areas.
Carry out routine deep cleaning for the assigned rooms.
Update work order tickets and record in system according to company procedures.
Communicate with departments and other relevant parties for work orders.
Respond to work orders quickly and resolve timely.
Conduct room care preventative maintenance as directed.
Possess thorough knowledge of all equipment in your department.
Achieving and maintaining a quality guest room product according to hotel standards.
Maintain strict compliance of hotel's Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) program, including maintaining current MSDS.
Adhere to hotel work order system including prioritization.
Demonstrate teamwork responsiveness when asked to do any task consistent with hotel standards.
Observe all department rules, regulations, and dress code.
Maintaining the documentation of all daily logs, reading, and building inspection programs.
Ensure safety and security throughout the hotel.
Maintaining all exterior grounds, parking areas, and public access areas.
All other duties assigned.
Qualifications
Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests.
Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in basic English preferred
Customer service experience is a must. All technicians must be able and willing to interact with guests.
Mechanical or technical experience in building maintenance is heavily preferred
Knowledge of computers and ability to process work tickets.
1-2 year of building maintenance experience is needed
High school diploma/GED or equivalent
Knowledge of heating and air conditioning units, plumbing systems, and electrical systems is preferred
Advanced understanding of maintenance equipment, procedures, and techniques
Available to be on call and respond to maintenance requests on nights and weekends
Excellent work ethic, communication skills, time management skills, and attention to detail
