Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Maintenance Technician I to support maintenance operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals looking to grow their mechanical and electrical skills through hands-on training and mentorship. The technician will assist with equipment maintenance, repairs, and production line setup while working under the guidance of senior maintenance staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with preventative maintenance (PM), repairs, and troubleshooting of production equipment and machinery
- Support setup and changeover of production/assembly lines
- Perform semi-skilled mechanical and basic electrical maintenance tasks
- Inspect equipment and components for defects, wear, or damage
- Clean, lubricate, adjust, and reassemble machinery as needed
- Assist higher-level technicians with installation, repair, and maintenance of systems and equipment
- Operate maintenance equipment such as forklifts, aerial lifts, and transport vehicles
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, repairs, and parts usage
- Follow all safety procedures and conduct safety inspections as required
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Read and interpret technical manuals, safety rules, and maintenance procedures
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and complete other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Basic mechanical aptitude; electrical knowledge is a plus
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Willingness to learn and develop technical maintenance skills
- Ability to work overtime as needed
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work from ladders and in confined or restricted spaces
- Ability to lift, move, and work with tools and equipment as needed
- Work in a manufacturing environment with varying conditions (heat, noise, etc.)
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
