Position Summary
The Maintenance Electrician Mechanic is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment within a manufacturing or production environment. This role supports safe, efficient operations by ensuring equipment reliability and compliance with safety standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Install, modify, repair, and maintain equipment and machinery, including pneumatic systems, electrical conduit, wiring, outlets, fixtures, transformers, panel boards, AC and DC motors, and relay/control equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair programmable logic controllers (PLC).
- Perform preventative maintenance and maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Complete all required process and product documentation related to work performed.
- Support equipment changeovers, setup, and operation of production machinery.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices and assist with other duties as assigned.
- Promote and maintain a safe work environment by following all safety procedures and protocols.
- Work assigned shifts as required, including being on call when the plant is in operation.
- Identify and resolve problems efficiently and collaborate effectively in team-based problem-solving situations.
Skills and Competencies
- Knowledge of the metric system and AC/DC control circuits.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Strong basic math skills and experience working with computer hardware.
- Forklift operator certification preferred.
- Toolmaker skills are a plus.
- Electrical training from a technical school or two-year college, or equivalent hands-on experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Maintenance Electrician (required).
