    Job Summary

    The Mechanical or Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing both mechanical and electrical systems and equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operations. This role supports production by minimizing downtime, improving equipment reliability, and ensuring all systems meet company quality and safety standards.

    Pay is based on experience.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical systems, machinery, and production equipment
    • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on motors, conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, and electrical panels
    • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues and implement effective repairs
    • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals
    • Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform timely repairs to minimize equipment downtime
    • Install, adjust, align, and replace mechanical components such as bearings, belts, chains, shafts, and couplings
    • Use electrical testing and diagnostic tools (multimeters, meters, etc.) to identify and resolve issues
    • Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work performed, parts used, and equipment status
    • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to resolve issues and improve equipment performance
    • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and regulatory standards
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to maintenance reliability and process efficiency

    Qualifications

    • Proven experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment
    • Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, motor controls, PLCs, and industrial machinery
    • Experience with mechanical systems including conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment
    • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation
    • Proficient with electrical and mechanical diagnostic tools
    • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Physically able to perform maintenance tasks, including lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods
    • Relevant certifications or licenses preferred (e.g., Industrial Maintenance Technician, Journeyman Electrician, Mechanical or PLC certifications)
