    Job Summary

    A precision manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join its Tool Room team. This role is responsible for building, repairing, modifying, and maintaining machines' tools to support high-precision manufacturing operations.

    This position is ideal for a skilled Maintenance Technician with CNC, EDM, and manual machining experience , strong blueprint reading abilities, and the capability to work independently in a fast-paced machine shop environment.

    Responsibilities

    • Build, repair, and modify machinists' tools, fixtures, and gauges
    • Manufacture tooling including dovetails, counterbores, drills, and reamers
    • Set up and operate:
      • Manual and CNC mills and lathes
      • Surface and cylindrical grinders
    • * EDM equipment
      
    • Analyze tool specifications, prints, and job layouts
    • Interpret and apply advanced blueprint reading and GD&T
    • Lay out metal stock and prepare materials for machining
    • Fit and assemble components to fabricate or repair cutting tools
    • Position and secure parts on surface plates and worktables
    • Verify dimensions, tolerances, and alignment using precision measuring instruments
    • Modify standard tooling as required to support production
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe Tool Room environment
    • Perform additional duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Toolmaker certification or equivalent hands-on experience
    • Proven experience as a Toolmaker in a manufacturing or machine shop environment
    • Advanced blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
    • Ability to operate:
      • CNC mills and lathes
      • Manual mills and lathes
      • Surface and cylindrical grinders
      • EDM equipment
    • Advanced math skills
    • Basic to advanced computer skills
    • Ability to read, write, and understand basic English
    • Strong communication skills

    Preferred Experience

    • Precision machining or contract manufacturing background

    • Experience supporting production tooling and engineering teams

    • Knowledge of tooling materials and heat-treatment processes
