    Shift: 2nd Shift | 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM or 3rd Shift | 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM

    Position Overview

    We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Mechanic to join our Maintenance Department. This role supports plant operations by installing, maintaining, and repairing bakery equipment while ensuring safety, efficiency, and minimal production downtime. The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge, a hands-on mindset, and a team-oriented approach.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair bakery machinery and production equipment.
    • Use hand tools, power tools, and electrical/electronic test equipment in compliance with OSHA and safety standards; proper use of PPE required.
    • Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues involving motors, transformers, lighting, and related equipment; develop and execute repair plans with urgency when production is impacted.
    • Coordinate planned maintenance activities to minimize operational downtime and support customer order fulfillment.
    • Perform routine maintenance on critical components (including metal detectors) in accordance with regulatory and corporate policies.
    • Maintain working knowledge of maintenance processes and company standards for efficient and effective repairs.
    • Lead maintenance projects as needed while supporting a team-based environment.
    • Communicate technical issues clearly to non-technical operators and assist with training when required.

    Required Skills & Qualifications

    • Broad maintenance experience with demonstrated strength in one or more of the following: electrical, mechanical, welding, or PLCs.
    • Ability to safely and effectively use maintenance tools and equipment and perform emergency repairs as needed.
    • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, manuals, and project plans; capable of training others on documentation.
    • Experience working with programmable controllers, robotics, calipers, and power tools.
    • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to develop efficient repair plans while meeting regulatory requirements.
    • Excellent attention to detail with strong documentation and reporting abilities.
    • Positive, professional approach with strong communication, diplomacy, and teamwork skills.
    • Trade/vocational education or apprenticeship preferred.
    • Minimum 2–5 years of industrial or plant maintenance experience.
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
    • Basic computer skills; exposure to diagramming and project management is a plus.
    • Food manufacturing experience preferred but not required.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
    • Ability to climb ladders and crawl under production lines.
    • Regularly lift up to 25 lbs; occasionally up to 100 lbs.
    • Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions and drawings.
    • Work primarily in a plant environment that may include extreme temperatures.
