Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing bakery and production equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This role works closely with production teams to minimize downtime and support continuous plant operations. This is a 2nd shift position with hours from 3pm-11:30pm.
Key Responsibilities **

- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain bakery and production machinery
- Use hand tools, power tools, and electrical/electronic testing equipment in compliance with OSHA and safety standards
- Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and control system issues, including motors, transformers, and lighting
- Coordinate and perform planned and preventive maintenance to minimize production downtime
- Maintain and service critical components such as metal detectors in compliance with regulatory and company standards
- Support continuous improvement and maintain high maintenance standards across the facility
- Lead or support maintenance projects as needed
- Work independently while supporting a team-based, collaborative environment
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Broad maintenance experience with strong skills in one or more of the following:
- Electrical
- Mechanical
- Welding
- PLCs
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and technical documentation
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and programmable controllers
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to explain technical issues in clear, non-technical terms
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Positive attitude with strong communication and teamwork skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Trade school, vocational training, or apprenticeship preferred
- 2–5 years of industrial or plant maintenance experience
- Food manufacturing experience preferred but not required
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with maintenance documentation
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and reach for extended periods
- Ability to climb ladders and work in confined spaces
- Ability to lift 25 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally
- Ability to read and follow detailed instructions and drawings
- Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to varying temperatures
