Scope:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to support night-shift manufacturing operations in a metals production environment. This role is critical to minimizing equipment downtime, maintaining safe and efficient plant operations, and supporting continuous production. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with industrial maintenance and exposure to metals manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities:
Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to minimize downtime
Support manufacturing operations by responding promptly to equipment failures during production
Diagnose root causes of equipment issues and recommend corrective actions
Assist with installation, modification, and commissioning of equipment and tooling
Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and spare parts usage
Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and plant policies
Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and uptime
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, and safety
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED; technical certification or trade school training preferred
2+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
Exposure to metals manufacturing processes (e.g., rolling, casting, forging, stamping, heat treating, machining, or finishing)
Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills; electrical knowledge a plus
Ability to read and interpret schematics, manuals, and technical documentation
Comfortable working independently on night shift with minimal supervision
