  • Responsibilities

    Full-time live-out nanny required for an Upper West Side family with an 8 month old boy, starting as soon as possible.  Specific duties to be negotiated with the family, but in general, you will be responsible for providing care to the child, cooking for him, tidying, cleaning and child-related laundry.  To be successful in this role, you will need to have at least 5 years of experience, including significant recent experience caring for infants/young toddlers.  The family is looking for someone who is reliable, patient, warm, and energetic.  The family values someone who is highly engaged and attentive with the child, partners with the parents and takes initiative to create a positive development environment for him.

    Location:  Upper West Side, Manhattan, NYC

    Start date:  ASAP

    Days/times:  45-50 hours/week, Mon-Fri, 8/8:30am to 6/6:30pm

    Children:  1 boy aged 8 months.

    Conditions:  $20-22 per hour* (set weekly salary)

    *dependant on experience

    For further consideration, applicants must possess the following:

    • Authorization to work in the US.
    • A minimum of 3 years' experience as a full-time nanny or 5 years as a steady part-time nanny working in private homes.
    • A well-suited demeanor for working with children. 
    • Exceptional childcare references that attest to strong communication skills, reliability, punctuality, maturity and high emotional intelligence.
    • Education or equivalent knowledge of ages and stages of child growth and development.
    • CPR and First Aid certifications
    • Ability to commit for a minimum of 1 year for all permanent positions.
    • Readiness to help with light housekeeping and all tasks related to childcare (meal prep, organizing, laundry, etc.).
    • A clean background to pass our comprehensive background check.
    • A professional appearance.
    • Fluency in both oral and written English.

    Preferred qualifications (but not required):

    • Training and certifications such as early childhood education, defensive driving, water safety certification, NCS, special needs, etc.
    • Special Needs experience, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
    • An open schedule and ability to travel.
    • Fluency in one or more foreign languages.
