Position Overview
We are seeking a Maitre D’ to serve as the face of Prhyme—an elevated host role that goes far beyond seating guests. This individual will own the front door experience and act as a hospitality ambassador, creating unforgettable first and last impressions, recognizing regulars, and setting the tone for fine dining excellence.
The Maitre D’ will manage all standard host responsibilities while going above and beyond with guest recognition, personalized service, and seamless communication with the service team. You will be a consistent, professional presence in the dining room, with a focus on hospitality, awareness, and refinement.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Recognition
Greet every guest with warmth and professionalism, using names whenever possible
Learn and remember guest preferences, birthdays, anniversaries, favorite wines, cocktails, dishes, and seating preferences
Maintain detailed guest notes through OpenTable or other tools to ensure a personalized experience
Build relationships with regulars and first-time guests alike to foster loyalty and delight
Host & Reservation Duties
Manage reservations and seating with thoughtfulness and precision, ensuring smooth flow of service
Confirm and follow up on reservations, VIPs, and special requests
Escort guests to tables, introduce servers, and provide key guest details to the service team
Assist with coat check, special occasion touches, and any additional concierge-level service
Dining Room Awareness
Monitor the dining room for pacing, atmosphere, and cleanliness
Adjust lighting, music, or layout as needed for optimal guest comfort
Communicate issues or needs proactively to management and service staff
Professionalism & Ownership
Serve as the consistent, polished presence at the front of house, particularly during peak shifts
Represent the values and standards of Prhyme and the Justin Thompson Group
Maintain immaculate appearance, punctuality, and pride in the role
Offer support to the FOH team and step in where needed without prompting
Qualifications
Prior experience as a host or in guest-facing fine dining roles
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask and maintain poise in a fast-paced, high-end environment
Familiarity with reservation platforms (OpenTable preferred) and guest note systems
Highly observant and detail-oriented
Passion for hospitality and guest satisfaction
Professional appearance and demeanor
Must be available evenings and weekends
