Job Description

SUMMARY:

MAKITA Corporation of America, a worldwide leading producer of high-quality power tools, is seeking a Product Engineer to become a part of our team! You will be responsible for determining the product bill of materials, sourcing components, communicating technical requirements to suppliers, coordination of engineering changes, and managing component cost reductions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Identify and develop OPE (outdoor power equipment) vendors
• Develop bill of materials for new products
• Identify and develop component suppliers
• Communicate technical requirements to suppliers
• Coordinate engineering changes
• Initiate and facilitate design change improvements
• Manage cost reduction activities

​QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS in Engineering preferred
• Strong project management and analytical skills
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to judge and self-manage priorities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Experience in Outdoor Power Equipment fields preferred
• Supply chain experience for sourcing of OPE (Outdoor Power Equipment) components preferred
