    Job Description

    MAKITA Corporation of America, a worldwide leading producer of high-quality power tools, has an opening for a Supply Chain Specialist / Material Scheduler at its manufacturing facility located in Buford, Georgia.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

    Required:

    • Bachelor Degree in business/management/Engineering, or similar, with the desire to learn and grow in a global manufacturing organization or, a two-year degree with at least two years of work experience in a manufacturing environment; or, high school graduate or equivalent with at least 4 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

    Preferred:

    • Supply Chain experience for sourcing of OPE (outdoor power equipment) components.
    • Experience with suppliers of deep draw, metal stamping, tube bending fabrication, and plastic injection molding,
    • Good organizational skills, communication skills (written and verbal) and problem-solving skills.
    • Working knowledge of MRP system.
    • Working knowledge of Foreign Trade Zones and US Customs Procedures
    • Self-motivated, team player.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Identify and develop OPE (outdoor power equipment) vendors.
    • Evaluate and register orders generated by MRP system.
    • Coordinate changes to purchase orders for production and non-production parts.
    • Communicate purchase orders to suppliers, confirming any alterations to due dates.
    • Place and communicate non-approved part orders from Product Engineering.
    • Expedite and defer purchase orders for timely delivery of product using tools of MAP system.
    • Troubleshoot problems with the Part Master, Bill of Material, and Engineering changes to ensure accurate placement of purchase orders.
    • Communicate and resolve issues with Assembly, Product Engineering, Receiving, and Quality
    • Identify and control the prevention of dead stock parts.
    • Develop and maintain business relationships with global suppliers.
    • Be able to manage multiple projects such as REACH, Rohs, and conflict minerals.
    • Be able to analyze pricing to determine cost-effective strategies for reducing part cost.
