  • Responsibilities

    HealthFitness is hiring for a Full-Time (30-40 hr/wk) MANAGER ON DUTY at our Harvard client site in CAMBRIDGE, MASSACHUSETTS. In this position, you will be the manager of our campus recreation facilities alongside our Full-Time Management Team. During the Management Team’s absence (opening/closing shifts) you will serve as the acting manager and will be responsible for the operations of the facility in its entirety.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Responsible for opening/closing the facility (Malkin Athletic Center, Hemenway Gymnasium, QRAC). When working a closing shift, it is a requirement to send Facility Closing Reports to the Management Team to summarize the days’ noteworthy occurrences.
    • Providing patrons with information about memberships, facility questions, upcoming programs, classes, training sessions, policies/procedures, etc.
    • Responsible for meeting the needs and answering the questions of the recreation center members. Respond positively to feedback and escalate complaints as needed.
    • Responsible for the security of the building, including access control and facility doors .
    • Responsible for handling all injuries/incidents that occur in the recreation center during their shift and filling out incident/accident reports. Contact offsite support staff as needed.
    • Delegate tasks/responsibilities to recreation center staff members on shift.
    • Oversight of towel services, equipment cleaning tasks, lost & found, and processing credit/debit card transactions.
    • Maintain the appearance of the fitness and locker rooms.
    • Assist the Management Team with implementation of various programs and initiatives.
    • Assist the Service Coordinator with new hire training sessions.
    • Run MOD training sessions for newly promoted team members.
    • Attend trainings and meetings as scheduled. Check emails and respond to deliverable requests as needed.
    • Ability to be on your feet for an extended period to maintain the cleanliness and safety of the facility. Must be able to lift 45+ pounds to assist with organization of equipment.
    • Keep all CPR/AED certifications current.

     

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONS:

     

    REQUIRED:

    • PROOF OF COVID-19 VACCINATION IS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT.
    • High school diploma or GED.
    • 1+ year of customer service experience.
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
    • Basic computer and point of sale knowledge.
    • CPR/AED certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute (required within 90 days of hire).

     

    PREFERRED:

    • Experience with InnoSoft Fusion recreation management software is a plus.
    • Competency in the delivery of HealthFitness and site-specific programs and services.
    • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands.

    Required Skills Required Experience

  • Qualifications
    • Applicant must model proper patient management/communication with Students.
    • Required to maintain dental assisting licensure by attending appropriate CE courses.
    • Required to maintain DANB Certifications if applicant has earned this specific certification
    • 5-8 years of applicable work experience required
    • Applicant must be formally trained through an accredited dental assisting program
    • DANB Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) Certificate preferred
