Qualifications
** Job Responsibilities:**
- Execute and manage the monthly and quarterly close responsibilities and financial reporting for UP&E revenue and related accounts (i.e., accounts receivable, and deferred revenue), organize timelines & deliverables and manage overall financial statement account review
- Review and approve journal entries, and related support/analysis; prepare journal entries as needed
- Provide technical accounting support (research US GAAP and document accounting conclusions) for revenue recognition, bad debt reserve, franchise allocation, etc.
- Identify subsystem enhancements to the Revenue / Royalty subsystem and partner with IT to request and implement these enhancements
- Partner with Legal and Category on contract review and analysis. Provide commentary to stakeholders on accounting implications of deal terms.
- Partner with FP&A to ensure transparency and accuracy in the quarterly earned royalty accrual process by providing value-add analysis and insight to reconcile forecast to actuals
- Provide auditors with relevant underlying support related to audits of revenue and related accounts
- Directly lead, mentor, and develop one Senior Financial Analyst and indirectly manage an offshore team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Provide guidance on best practices and foster a culture of accountability and excellence within the accounting team.
- Partner with offshore team to oversee tasks, and review work product; enhance and innovate with offshore team to standardize and centralize tasks
- Key Leader in the preparation of the balance sheet review and supporting analytical schedules, lead read-out of Revenue results to UP&E CFO, UP&E Controller, Universal Destinations & Experiences Controller, and NBCU Corporate Financial Reporting
- Review balance sheet account reconciliations and ensure that they are prepared in accordance with the high-quality standards of the NBCU Account Reconciliation Policy, prepare account reconciliations as needed
- Support international accounting management from a controls, compliance, and reporting perspective
- Collaborate within and across organization on key company-wide initiatives and to support the Finance transformation roadmap (people, process, technology)
- Other duties and special projects as needed
** Basic Qualifications:**
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Accounting
- CPA preferred
- 5+ years’ experience in public or private accounting with experience directly related to key responsibilities
- 2+ years of prior management/supervisory experience required
- Big Four audit client service experience preferred
- Experience with S4/HANA, SAP ECC FI, or other large ERP systems and subsystems
- Proficiency in a variety of systems, including MS Office suite of tools (Word, PowerPoint, Power BI, and high-level Excel spreadsheets such as familiarity with macros, pivot tables, lookup, and IF functions)
