    Job Summary

    Desert Ridge Family Physicians is seeking an experienced and motivated Back Office Clinic Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of our clinical support team. The ideal candidate is a strong healthcare leader who is passionate about patient care, staff development, operational excellence, and creating a positive workplace culture.

    The Clinical Manager will oversee Medical Assistants, Care Coordinators, and other clinical support personnel while ensuring efficient patient flow, regulatory compliance, quality patient care, and achievement of organizational goals.

    Essential Responsibilities

    Leadership & Team Management

    Supervise, coach, and develop back-office clinical staff.

    Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and mentorship.

    Develop staffing schedules and ensure appropriate clinical coverage.

    Foster teamwork, accountability, and professional growth among staff.

    Participate in recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention initiatives.

    Clinical Operations

    Oversee day-to-day back-office workflow and patient flow.

    Ensure exam rooms, supplies, and equipment are maintained and operational.

    Monitor provider schedules and staffing needs to maximize operational efficiency.

    Collaborate with providers and leadership to improve clinical workflows.

    Address operational challenges and implement process improvements.

    Quality & Compliance

    Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, and all applicable regulations.

    Maintain clinical policies, procedures, and protocols.

    Conduct routine audits to ensure documentation accuracy and adherence to standards.

    Support quality improvement initiatives and patient safety efforts.

    Monitor and maintain clinical competencies and certifications.

    Patient Care & Experience

    Promote exceptional patient service and quality care.

    Assist with resolution of patient concerns and service recovery when needed.

    Monitor patient satisfaction and identify opportunities for improvement.

    Support care coordination and population health initiatives.

    Inventory & Resource Management

    Oversee medical supply inventory and establish par levels.

    Monitor inventory utilization and control costs.

    Coordinate equipment maintenance and vendor relationships.

    Ensure timely ordering and receipt of supplies.

    Reporting & Performance Metrics

    Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).

    Prepare operational and clinical reports for leadership.

    Implement and track goals related to productivity, patient care, quality outcomes, and staff performance.

    Qualifications

    Required

    Minimum 5 years of healthcare leadership or supervisory experience.

    Minimum 5 years of clinical healthcare experience in a primary care or outpatient setting.

    Medical Assistant Certification, LPN, RN, or equivalent clinical credential.

    Strong knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and healthcare compliance requirements.

    Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems. Athena preferred

    Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

    Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    Preferred

    Experience in Family Medicine or Primary Care.

    Supervisory experience managing Medical Assistants and clinical support staff.

    BLS Certification.

    Experience with quality improvement and workflow optimization initiatives.
