    Job Description

    Community Engagement:

    • Develop and execute community outreach programs to foster positive relationships with local communities and promote the stations’ participation and presence.

    • Identify partnership opportunities aligned with the stations’ community priorities.

    • Cultivate relationships with community leaders, non-profits, grassroots community organizations, and other stakeholders and partners.

    • Plan and execute community events, meetings, and public forums ensuring community affairs activities comply with station and company standards.

    • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of community engagement initiatives.

    • Manage partnership agreements with non-profits and ensure deliverables are completed on time, including production and airing of promos, PSA’s and related marketing materials.

    • Analyze and understand key issues affecting Southern California communities and strategically recommend grassroots initiatives that align with NBC4 and Telemundo 52’s engagement priorities to maximize community impact.

    • Coordinate with News, Digital, Marketing & Promotions, Research, and Sales teams to enhance the effectiveness of community initiatives.

    • Manage cross-company initiatives and presence by liaising with internal partners such as NBCU, Comcast, Telemundo Network, and local station teams.

    Event Management:

    • Plan, support, and implement community events and activations, including logistics for parades, festivals, grassroots events, and station initiatives.
    • Identify and manage NBC4 and Telemundo 52 presence and/or talent participation at local events to ensure proper representation of the station/talent brand, including all logistics and materials preparation.
    • Represent NBC4 and Telemundo 52 at internal and external events, including evenings and weekends.

    Communications:

    • Write and edit communication pieces including press releases, key messaging, social media posts, talking points, event scripts, talent biographies, and speeches to support clear and consistent messaging and elevate NBC4 and Telemundo 52 brand, talent, and community initiatives (English and Spanish).
    • Ensure regular updates to NBCLA.com and Telemundo52.com community pages.
    • Maintain a list of external media contacts and monitor media coverage.
    • Assist with media inquiries and manage media relations.
    • Ensure the stations’ brand and initiative messaging is consistently represented across all platforms and communications.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in community relations, public affairs, public relations, corporate social responsibility, or a similar role.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and attention to detail.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

    Eligibility Requirements:

    • Applicant must be willing to work in Universal City, CA.
    • Bilingual with proficiency in Spanish (written and verbal).
    • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
    • Applicant must be willing to work nights and weekends and occasional holidays throughout the year, including being “on call” and available as needed.

    • Strong track record meeting targets and objectives while working in a deadline orientated environment
    • Established network within Southern California's community organizations and/or government entities a plus.

    Additional Requirements:

    • Required On-Site : This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.

    Salary range: $90,000- $115,000 (bonus eligible)
