    Job Description

    The Position

    The Manager, Content Acquisitions role will be responsible for inventory management, tracking deals, communicating to internal stakeholders, and evaluating series & film for Versant’s cable networks: USA, SYFY, E! and Oxygen. The ideal candidate is an analytical thinker, who is detail-oriented, organized, and able to pivot at a moment's notice.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

    • Work closely with the programming, marketing, operations, finance, research and legal teams to manage content inventory and communicate deal details
    • Prepare offer templates and financial documents for initial movie deal selections
    • Evaluate performance of inventory to aid in analysis of future acquisitions and renewals
    • Work with IT / Business Intelligence on the development of content planning tools and reporting capabilities
    • Identify potential acquisitions via synopses, scripts, trailers, trade articles, screeners, and finished product
    • Prepare decks for presentation by senior executives
    • Assist in review of large-scale content deals to ensure accuracy of content details
    • Screen movies and series and provide feedback on potential fit for the portfolio
    • Responsible for managing a Content Acquisitions Coordinator
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree and **** 4+ years of experience in acquisitions, content strategy or scheduling and/or experience in financial analysis, sales planning or research at a major media company

    • Exceptional proficiency in Excel

    • Strong PowerPoint Skills

    • Database management experience required with ability to formulate inventory reports

    • Ability to work in fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and drive them to completion

    • Excellent communication skills

    • Strong interpersonal skills and a team player

    • Demonstrates a passion for television and movie content from all genres

    • Experience working in the industry with a foundation on how streaming and TV business works is a plus

    • Relationships with third party studios and productions companies domestic and international

    Additional Requirements:

    • Hybrid : This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
    • This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
