Department: Daycare, Boarding, Grooming Reports To: Owners & Operations Manager Status: Full-Time
POSITION SUMMARY
The location managers are responsible for the overall performance, leadership, and profitability of assigned locations. This role oversees all departments, ensuring operations run efficiently, safely, and at a high standard of customer and employee experience.
The location managers are accountable for team performance, financial outcomes, and operational consistency, while developing leaders within the organization.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee daily operations across all departments (daycare, boarding, grooming)
Ensure all services are delivered safely, efficiently, and consistently
Identify and improve workflows to increase efficiency and profitability
Maintain facility standards, cleanliness, and safety compliance
Oversee building maintenance and vendor coordination (with approval)
Hire, train, develop, and manage department leaders and staff
Set clear expectations and hold team accountable to performance standards
Conduct regular performance reviews and coaching conversations
Maintain a positive, professional, and high-performing work culture
Address employee issues, conflict, and disciplinary actions as needed
Oversee staffing levels to meet operational needs while controlling labor costs
Approve and monitor schedules, PTO, and timekeeping accuracy
Ensure payroll is accurate (timecards, services, add-ons, etc.)
Set and enforce standards for exceptional customer service
Handle escalated client concerns and protect brand reputation
Ensure consistent communication with pet parents regarding care and behavior
Monitor key business metrics (revenue, labor %, memberships, add-ons)
Oversee inventory (retail, supplies, office materials)
Maintain accurate client records, memberships, and billing
Partner with President/bookkeeper on reporting and performance tracking
Oversee onboarding and training programs across departments
Develop future leaders within the organization
Implement ongoing training to improve safety, service, and efficiency
Ensure all safety protocols are followed for pets and staff
Oversee handling of medical incidents and proper client communication
Maintain a safe and controlled play environment
Step into daily operations as needed (including physical tasks)
Lead by example in work ethic, professionalism, and care standards
QUALIFICATIONS
Former leadership experience in the pet-care field
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Experience with scheduling, payroll, and team management
Comfortable in a fast-paced, physically active environment
