    Job Description

    The Manager, HR Operations and Programs will be responsible for overseeing and managing McGee’s Leave of Absence program, as well as various aspects of compliance, policies and HR operations and programs. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the organization adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.

    This position will lead, mentor, and foster a collaborative team environment and encourage open communication along with a positive, value-driven employee experience.

    The ideal candidate for this role is positive and solution-focused, possessing a strong work ethic, excellent organizational, communication and strategic thinking skills. Also, HR acumen, knowledge of absence management, employment/labor regulations, compliance and HR practices, ability to work in a 24/7 fast paced environment, while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and attention to detail. The HR manager should improve leaves, compliance, and HR processes, improve our team members' experience, strengthen relations between all roles, and promote organizational values.

    This role reports to the Director, HR Operations and Programs. This is an on-site role which may require flexibility to periodically travel, support, and work in other U.S. airport locations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. HR Operations and Programs

    • Lead and motivate a team of specialists, providing guidance and support in the areas of Leaves of Absence and Compliance.
    • Develop and deliver training and support for managers and team members regarding various programs and policies.
    • Agility to collaborate, cross-train, and support all HR Operations and Programs.

    2. Leaves of Absence

    • Implement and maintain comprehensive leave of absence programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and company policies.
    • Manage and coordinate the administration of all types of leaves, including but not limited to FMLA, ADA, and state specific leaves such as CFRA in California.
    • Coordinate with Worker’s Compensation team as needed on leaves related to work injuries.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate a seamless return to work process.
    • Work closely with external vendors and insurance carriers

    3. Compliance

    • Work closely with the Director on HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
    • Stay current on employment laws, regulations, legislative changes, and industry best practices and adjust policies and procedures accordingly.
    • Conduct regular internal audits to assess compliance with policy and records compliance.
    • Work with the Director to prepare and coordinate external and internal reporting requirements.
    • Develops procedures to ensure risks are mitigated.

    4. Other Duties as assigned to support McGee’s successful business operation.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Job Specific Experience, Education & Skills

    • 6+ years of experience in Human Resources, and strong knowledge of Leaves of Absence Management and Compliance Programs.
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.
    • 3+ years of leadership experience.
    • Supervisor experience.
    • Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and industry standards including EEOC, AAP and federal contractor requirements.
    • Professional work ethic with a demonstrated ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
    • Ability to focus on positive solution-based approaches, excellent teamwork, and collaboration.
    • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
    • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Flexibility to work alternate shifts if needed to support 24/7 operations.
    • Flexibility to support travel (up to approximately 20%) is required.
    • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

    Preferred Job Specific Experience, Education & Skills

    • Aviation, Transportation, or related industry experience.
    • Human Resource Professional Certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR).
    • Experience managing Leaves of Absence and / or Compliance Programs.
    • Union experience.
    • HR Operations and Programs experience.
    • Experience working in a multi-state organization, including California.
    • Experience in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
    • Supervisory experience in mid–large size enterprise.

    **** This role is an on-site role and requires candidates to either reside or be willing to reside in the Greater Seattle Area.**

    Additional Information

    _ Pay_

    The hiring range for this position is $88,000 - $108,000 per year. The full salary range for this position is $79,041 - $118,561 per year.
