    Job Description

    The Media Operations team for NBCUniversal’s Operations and Technology group is seeking a Manager, Media Operations (Ingest) to join the leadership team that encompasses all aspects of the digital supply chain. As Manager, Media Operations, you will be part of a 24x7x365 driven and highly motivated team that supports the fulfillment of media content to NBCUniversal’s distribution outlets. The Media Operations Ingest team is responsible for ensuring content is sourced, recorded, prepared and fulfilled to numerous various outlets including owned television stations, broadcast & cable networks, Video on Demand clients, regional sports networks, Web Video, and more.

    As Manager, Media Operations (Ingest), you will work closely with other leaders from Operations, Engineering, Product, and other business lines, to execute ingest and fulfillment of all recorded and prepped content to our distribution networks, local stations and platforms across the world. Including support of quickturn around distribution for tentpole events and key programming such as Olympics, FIFA World Cup, SNL and more.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage a staff of Media Prep Technicians and Media Operations Technicians to successfully execute on the departmental goal of 99.999% reliability. Managerial responsibilities include hiring, training, scheduling, coaching and performance management of a team of direct reports.
    • Responsible for managing a team that operates 24/7/365, serving as a point of contact during off-hours and adjusting working hours as necessary to supervise tentpole events and core programming for the business.
    • Act as an Operational lead on outage bridges as required, identify patterns and conduct root cause analysis recommending process/technology solutions to prevent further instances of similar problems - inclusive of off hours.
    • Manage projects across the team for department initiatives such as new workflows or technology developments and identify areas in new or legacy workflows where improvements can be implemented to gain productivity.
    • Create Standard Operating Procedures and maintain team training certifications to ensure all workflows are executed successfully and reliably, with the support of team Supervisor and Specialists.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert of technical functions and systems including content QC, baseband/linear ingest, edit & prep functions within NLE platform, and quick turn around fulfillment.
    • Develop partnerships and work closely with Engineering, Product and Distribution teams on plans for destination architecture, along with helping to implement and apply new innovative solutions and automate operations.
    • Serve as point of contact to Program Operations, Distribution Operations, Engineering and Programming teams across business lines to ensure content is sourced, ingest and fulfilled by required deadlines.
    • Collaborate with vendors, in partnership with Engineering, to identify issues, provide feedback and drive solutions affecting team's infrastructure

    Requirements:

    • 3+ years of film/tv/broadcast operations, digital or new media experience
    • 3+ years' experience leading/managing people in a technical or project driven environment
    • 3+ years' experience in a customer / vendor facing role.

    Desired Characteristics:

    • Well versed in all aspects of a Digital Supply Chain; A/V technical specs, quality control, content ingest
    • Ability to multi-task and make effective decisions in a high-pressure deadline driven environment
    • BA/BS in relevant field or equivalent relevant professional experience required
    • Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills, ability to interface with multiple departments, clients, and vendors
    • Excellent prioritization, delegation and analytical skills
    • Knowledge and understanding of various digital formats, codecs, industry standard tools
    • Knowledge and understanding of digital broadcast and production technical systems, standards, and processes
    • Knowledge of digital media file types - QuickTime, MXF, MPEG, Mp4 etc.

    Additional Requirements:

    • Must be willing and able to work on call including overnights, swing, or weekends, sometimes on short notice, in support of the 24/7, 365 operations
    • Must have unrestricted employment authorization in the US

    • This position has been designated as hybrid , which currently requires contributing from the Stamford, CT or Centennial, CO office a minimum of three days per week. Beginning January 5, 2026, hybrid employees will be required to work from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
