Job Description
The Manager, Safety, is responsible for evaluating and managing safety protocols followed across all station operations, including direct leadership of Duty Managers, Safety and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Specialists. This role identifies trends, implements corrective actions, and ensures operational safety compliance. Additionally, this position organizes safety training and oversees comprehensive equipment management to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.

Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in aviation management, business administration, or a closely related field preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the aviation or airline industry, specifically in ground handling or airport operations, required.
At least 3 years of experience managing projects, with a focus on operational improvements or safety initiatives, preferred.
Advanced understanding of Safety Management Systems (SMS) and comprehensive airline security compliance, including TSA and FAA requirements, is required.
Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA regulations, TSA protocols, and FAA requirements directly related to customer service and ground handling operations is required.
Strong technical knowledge of ground support equipment (GSE) operations, maintenance schedules, and safety standards is required.
Proven ability to conduct thorough root cause analyses, develop actionable corrective measures, and track implementation outcomes.
Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of safety compliance, and mentoring team members to achieve operational excellence.
Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills with the ability to influence outcomes aligned with the company's goals.
Must be proactive, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively to ensure daily operational objectives are met.
Experience providing constructive feedback, implementing corrective actions, and issuing progressive discipline in compliance with company policy.

Obtain and maintain an airport security clearance, customs seal, and/or USPS security clearance including background criminal history check, drug screen, and fingerprinting is required.
