    Job Description

    The NBCUniversal Team is looking for a Manager, Security. In this role, you will have oversight of all security logistics and physical security operations for NBCU’s owned television station facility which includes a local News operation at 4001 Nebraska Avenue in Washington DC. You will report directly to the Senior Vice President, Global Security, East Coast Security as part of the Global Security Operations team.

    You will manage vendor relationships and ensure the necessary resources, policies, processes, and plans are in place to protect the company’s employees, physical property, intellectual property, and operations. You will travel as needed across additional NBCU’s Local Stations across the East Coast, including Telemundo Local. This role will be required on-site full-time at 4001 Nebraska Avenue in Washington, DC.

    What You’ll Do

    • Own all aspects of the Security function for the Stations in your remit. This includes interaction with all roles within the station as well as Station Group leadership, as needed. Responsibilities are broadly: assessing the Security needs, securing appropriate vendors, travelling to remotes when required, and conducting post-mortems to identify lessons learned and greater opportunity for efficiencies.
    • Own responsibility of the relationship for all Security Vendors needed to support the stations’ operations, including contracts, budgets, invoice processing Security action plan implementation, all standard operating procedures are up to date and adhered to, and training expectations are met.
    • Manage Global Security guidelines and training requirements for NBC Local employees; coordinate all necessary security related trainings, either as the training facilitator or as a direct liaison with contracted security training vendors or law enforcement.
    • Work closely with the Global Security Operations and NBCU Cyber Security team to coordinate and advise on the NBC Local security needs, leverage central resources (such as the NBCU Global Response & Intelligence Center (GRIC) team), stay consistent with Security standards across the enterprise, and be part of influencing and improving the policies and procedures of the Global Security team as appropriate.
    • Assist NBC Local management (Human Resources, Legal, etc.) with investigations when appropriate.
    • Play an active role in representing the Security Department with Business Continuity and Crisis Management teams.
    • Develop and maintain effective business relationships with Local and Federal law enforcement and emergency response agencies.
    • Provide direct personal protection support for NBC Local senior executives and talent, as needed.
    • Must be able to work weekends, nights, holidays, and on call as needed
    • Required On-Site : This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    What You Have…

    • 5+ years professional experience in law enforcement, military, corporate security, and/or a related role, preferably with experience in the Washington DC area
    • 5+ years experience managing a budget and working with vendors
    • 5+ years experience with general security concepts and methods such as vulnerability assessments, privacy assessments, intrusion detection, incident response, security policy creation, enterprise security strategies, architectures and governance

    What You Maybe Have…

    • Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Security, or related field.
    • Bilingual: English and Spanish
    • Corporate security experience in the field of News or major event security.
    • Demonstrated experience working with senior level executives and high-profile talent, particularly in the Security discipline.
    • Experience establishing and implementing departmental strategy, as well as managing short and long-term projects and developing team members.
    • Broad professional experience working as a part of a globally dispersed team is a plus.
    • Established project management skills and experience.
    • Ability to coordinate several projects and daily responsibilities concurrently.
    • Strong working knowledge and experience in the areas, industry, and emerging trends of Corporate Security and/or Law Enforcement information management programs.
    • Self-motivated operator with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced and dynamic setting.
