MANAGER OF DATA AND EVALUATION
JOB DESCRIPTION
Organizational Mission: Esperanza Community Housing Corporation is a social justice non-profit in South Central Los Angeles that achieves long-term, comprehensive community development. Position Purpose: The Manager of Data and Evaluation will ensure the integrity, accuracy, and relevance of Esperanza’s organizational and programmatic data, in order to improve our mission and outcomes. The responsibilities include providing data management and data analysis, which is crucial to assess organizational outcomes, formulating data-driven insights, and ensuring timely and accurate program reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Organizational Leadership
Participate in quality assurance and improvement activities within the organization, continuously seeking ways to improve data collection and analysis processes through various departments and projects.
Support directors or program managers in writing grant reports, ensuring that all data is accurate, relevant, and presented in a clear, understandable manner.
Participate in Technology Infrastructure Committee for data security, HIPAA compliance and other related tasks.
Support fundraising efforts by providing organizational and/or program data to effectively demonstrate impact.
Coordinate and collaborate with management teams across various departments, programs and committees.
Data and Evaluation Management
Supervise and guide the Esperanza’s data management process, including collection, validation, storage, protection, and retrieval.
Oversee staff involved in various projects who support data entry and related research and evaluation tasks.
Serve as the liaison to community partners for data and evaluation matters, ensuring that all requirements and regulations are met and attending partner data meetings as needed.
Oversee the creation, review, and triage of lists detailing community members who need engagement.
Ensure accuracy and consistency in data entry and management across different platforms and systems.
Lead and coordinate efforts for program evaluation, ensuring that metrics and key performance indicators are relevant, realistic, and aligned with program objectives.
Program Collaborative Leadership
Collaborate with Directors, Managers and staff to determine and implement best practices for data collection, protection and analysis.
Work closely with community health workers to communicate data requirements and gather necessary information.
Coordinate special community events and health assessments, ensuring that data from these events are accurately and promptly recorded.
All other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Supervisor: Associate Director
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Public Policy, Epidemiology, Public Health Statistics, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience).
A minimum of 3-5 years experience managing and evaluating data of grant-funded public health or social service programs in underserved communities.
A minimum of 1 year evaluating community engagement.
Comprehensive understanding of data management processes, including data collection and cleaning, survey/questionnaire design, program outcomes tracking, and reporting outcomes.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities, preferably in a non-profit or community-based setting.
Detail-oriented mindset with a strong focus on accuracy and consistency.
Proficiency in MS Office, MS SharePoint, MS Teams, Zoom, Google Suite, and electronic medical records and statistical analysis software.
Familiarity with Salesforce or similar data management platform is a plus.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Knowledge of data HIPAA regulations and ability to apply them in daily operations.
Familiarity with medical terminology preferred.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred.
Compensation: The Manager of Data and Evaluation is a full-time, exempt position with an annual salary range of $70-80k. Salary is based on qualifications and experience. Esperanza Community Housing offers comprehensive benefits that include: 100% medical and dental, cash in lieu of medical and dental, unemployment, 401K with matching, group life, accidental death, long-term disability, and holiday/vacation/sick leave pay.
