Job Description
Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations and staff performance within the Labor and Delivery unit
Ensure high-quality, patient-centered care in alignment with organizational policies and standards
Monitor nursing care delivery, clinical outcomes, and unit performance metrics
Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance accountability for all L&D staff
Coordinate with AP, PP, and LD units during on-call weeks (every third week)
Promote collaboration among interdisciplinary teams to achieve patient care goals
Unit Details:
19 Labor beds, 5 OBED beds, 3 Surgical Suites
On-call rotation includes PP/AP/LD coverage every third week
Qualifications
Active RN license (Texas or compact)
Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma required; BSN preferred
Minimum 1 year of recent leadership experience in Labor & Delivery
Strong understanding of obstetric protocols, safety standards, and staffing models
Ability to manage 80+ FTEs across multiple L&D-related departments
Excellent communication, decision-making, and organizational skills
