Role Overview
The Manager of Marketing and Communications (MoMC) drives brand visibility and internal cohesion across KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools by leading regional marketing, storytelling, and communications efforts. This role champions external engagement—including student and teacher recruitment campaigns—and ensures internal communication systems are aligned and effective. The MoMC builds community trust, leads digital strategy, and ensures KIPP Jacksonville is known as a high-quality, joyful, and equitable organization.
This is a year-round, full-time position on the Shared Services team and collaborates closely with the School Operations, Talent, and External Affairs teams.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Brand Visibility
In partnership with the COO, create and execute a comprehensive branding strategy for student recruitment, teacher recruitment, and community awareness.
Manage digital and print campaigns (e.g., social media ads, radio, billboards, flyers) to increase local brand recognition.
Oversee marketing budgets in collaboration with the Student Recruitment and Talent teams.
Align all media content to brand guidelines and strategic goals.
Digital Media Management
Lead all regional social media accounts and develop a clear content calendar.
Oversee the design and updates of the regional website.
Develop and implement email campaigns and newsletters for families, staff, and external stakeholders.
Monitor analytics and engagement data to inform strategy adjustments.
Internal & External Communications
Write press releases, op-eds, and feature stories that elevate KIPP Jacksonville’s voice in the community.
Support communication needs related to annual fundraisers and donor events in partnership with the Development team.
Serve as the central point of contact for all staff-facing and public-facing communications.
Design & Collateral Development
Design high-impact marketing materials, such as fact cards, event signage, and school-specific recruitment items.
Create branded regional “swag” (e.g., shirts, gifts, nameplates, email signatures).
Ensure consistent brand identity across presentations, social posts, and printed media.
Maintain and organize a photo archive and public relations clippings for use in future storytelling.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in marketing, communications, or a related field
Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously
Exceptional written, visual, and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in social media platforms, email marketing tools, and CMS/web management
Comfort with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, PowerPoint)
Highly Preferred
Experience in a nonprofit, charter school, or mission-driven organization
Understanding of brand strategy and storytelling in educational or equity-focused settings
Familiarity with photography, video editing, or content management systems
Additional Information
This is a full-time, year-round position based at the KIPP Jacksonville Regional Office. Typical hours are 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with some flexibility required around major events, campaign launches, or media deadlines. After initial onboarding this role will have a hybrid work schedule with 3 days required in office each week and two days remote.
Pay and Compensation
Base pay starts at $51,000 and is commensurate on experience
