    Job Description

    The Manager of Procurement Operations is responsible for optimizing our sourcing activities with a strong focus on reducing purchasing costs both externally, through supplier negotiations and partnerships, and internally, by identifying process efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities within the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of procurement, supplier management, global sourcing, and logistics to ensure cost-effective, reliable delivery of distribution items and engineered solutions.

    In addition to sourcing responsibilities, this role includes managing a team of three. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership and mentoring skills to guide the team in delivering procurement goals while fostering collaboration with key cross-functional partners, including sales, engineering, and operations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage and develop a team of three procurement professionals, providing leadership, coaching, and performance oversight.
    • Lead initiatives to reduce purchasing costs by identifying supplier efficiencies, renegotiating contracts, and streamlining internal procurement processes.
    • Develop and execute sourcing strategies that align with business goals, delivering cost savings and improved operational efficiency.
    • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships through performance management, issue resolution, and long-term partnership development.
    • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, reliability, cost, and sustainability standards.
    • Negotiate contracts and terms to ensure favorable pricing, lead times, and service levels.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external customers to align procurement efforts with broader organizational goals.
    • Conduct ongoing market research and analysis to stay informed on pricing trends, industry shifts, and supplier capabilities.
    • Monitor and analyze company spend to ensure transparency and identify cost-reduction opportunities.
    • Develop and maintain risk mitigation procedures to minimize supply chain disruptions.
    • Perform cost and scenario analyses, benchmarking, and data-driven evaluations of sourcing effectiveness.
    • Drive the development of category management strategies to improve sourcing outcomes.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:

    • 8 + years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain,
    • 3+ years of experience in direct team management.
    • Expertise in sourcing, vendor management, and procurement tools/software.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively and manage supplier relationships.
    • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
    • Understanding of global market dynamics, supply chain logistics, and cost modeling.

    Education Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
