    Job Description

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Manager of Visiting Faculty and Entrepreneurship collaborates with members of the Musician Advancement Team on the logistical planning and execution of New World Symphony’s (NWS's) Fellowship coaching and entrepreneurial activities.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Visiting Faculty and Entrepreneurship:

    • In consultation with the Associate Dean of Visiting Faculty and Entrepreneurship, manage activities for NWS Fellows including:
      • Coordinate and communicate with NWS Fellows and staff regarding Visiting Faculty schedules, lessons, and classes
      • Create contracts, book travel and accommodations, and process payables for Visiting Faculty including Instrumental and Entrepreneurship Coaches
      • Serve as point of contact for Visiting Faculty before, during, and after their visits (including some evening and weekend responsibilities)
      • Manage the Fellows Professional Development Fund
      • Assist with managing budget forecasting, reporting, and payments for NWS BLUE (Build, Learn, Understand, Experiment) Projects and Visiting Faculty
      • Coordinate Visiting Faculty and Entrepreneurship feedback surveys from Fellows and coaches
      • Assist in managing attendance records for master classes, special events, and other activities as needed

    Musician Advancement (MA):

    • Organize catering/logistics for the Fellows and room setup request needs

    • Share in administrative responsibilities of facilitating weekly department meetings and organizing departmental storage and filing systems (occurs on a rotating basis for all MA team)

    • Manage one Fellow-led role: Festmeister

      • Onboard new Festmeister as needed
      • Coordinate with Festmeister to reimburse expenses for designated institutional Fellow-led gatherings
    • Perform other job-related duties as needed

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years of experience in nonprofit administration, including demonstrated experience with financial tracking and budget coordination; experience in artist relations preferred; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to interact positively and sensitively with a wide variety of personalities in various settings
    • High degree of organization and attention to detail
    • Ability to multitask, set priorities and meet deadlines
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; experience with ArtsVision is desired
    • Knowledge of classical music is desired
    • Strong commitment to the evolution of the orchestra industry and classical music education
    • Passion for the mission of the New World Symphony and commitment to its values of community, respect, excellence, accountability and trust
    • Fluency in English is required; fluency in Spanish is desired

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends
    • Ability to work in-person at the New World Center for coaching activities and other NWS events
