Ciprani Consulting is leading the search for a licensed, experienced Managing Funeral Director on behalf of a respected and long-established funeral home in the Montgomery County/Greater Philadelphia area. This is an opportunity for a compassionate, hands-on leader who values both tradition and progress. Someone who sets the tone for excellence by being involved in every aspect of service, guiding others by example, and ensuring every family receives unmatched care and professionalism. Compensation • Salary Range: $115,000 – $125,000 (based on experience) • Paid time off Responsibilities: Minimal on-call professional responsibilities with full-time support and removal staff The right person will not be punching the clock; the right person has extreme ownership over their operation and makes sure all families and employees are taken care of first. Client Care and Consultation • Meet with families to discuss service options, pricing, and preferences. • Provide emotional support and guidance while maintaining professionalism and discretion. • Explain legal requirements and obtain necessary authorizations for cremation, burial, or transport. • Coordinate viewings, visitations, memorials, and other related services in line with family wishes. Service Coordination • Arrange logistics for services, including scheduling, transportation, music, floral arrangements, clergy, and printed materials. • Preparation of the deceased for viewing, • Ensure all details of the funeral, memorial, or graveside service are executed flawlessly. Administrative and Legal Compliance • File and secure all required documentation, such as death certificates, burial permits, and insurance claim forms. • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as ethical and professional standards of conduct. • Manage pre-need and at-need arrangements and maintain accurate client records. Operations and Facility Management • Ensure funeral home facilities are maintained in a clean, organized, and welcoming condition. • Oversee inventory of caskets, urns, memorial items, and other merchandise. • Coordinate with the cemetery, crematory, clergy, and service providers to ensure the timely delivery of all services. Community Engagement • Represent the funeral home in the community through outreach and relationship-building. • Assist with marketing efforts, community education, and local events that promote trust and awareness. Qualifications: • Active Funeral Director License in the State of Pennsylvania REQUIRED.5+ years of experience in funeral service operations. • A strong sense of ownership and accountability , you see things through and lead by doing. • Professional appearance and demeanor , creating a positive and lasting impression on families and colleagues alike. • Exceptional communication, organization, and multitasking skills. • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and be on-call as needed. • A learning-based mindset with a commitment to continual professional growth.
