    Job Description

Manchester Capital Management LLC is, and has been since its inception, a family office dedicated to helping families sustain their wealth, values, and legacy from generation to generation. We are independent—a private firm owned by employees and a small group of clients; a boutique—big enough to access institutional-grade investments, small enough to provide outstanding service to our clients; open architecture—utilizing the best solutions regardless of source; and conflict free—our source of revenues is fees on assets under management. We serve exclusively as the clients’ advocate, always striving to become their trusted advisor.

Our investment process centers on our three-person Strategy Group, which coordinates and seeks direction from our larger Investment Committee, thereby drawing on the collective experience of our group of seasoned investment professionals and our dedicated research staff. We are truly open architecture, with no proprietary products and access to world class managers in both traditional and alternative investment strategies. Clients are served by a team that begins with a lead wealth manager supported by a backup wealth manager, an analyst/associate, and an operations specialist.

The Portfolio Analyst is exposed to high level wealth and investment management on a daily basis. The role could be a 3-4 year “pre-MBA” position or a career path, depending on the preference and success of the individual.

    Job responsibilities will include:

    1. Work with current wealth management professionals to monitor client portfolios, prepare financial plans, and engage in a variety of client focused wealth management projects

    2. Attend weekly Investment Committee meetings and assist with investment research

    3. Conduct ongoing due diligence of investment managers

    4. Preparing presentations and meeting materials for clients

    A successful candidate will possess:

    1. BA/BS preferably with a major/concentration in finance, math, accounting, or economics

    2. An understanding of and interest in financial markets, investing, wealth management, and economics

    3. A strong analytical mind and a willingness to learn and grow

    4. Advanced Microsoft Office and data analysis skills

    5. A desire to work at a small firm that values a client-first culture and the fiduciary standard

    6. Prior work experience at an investment firm would be helpful

    Company Description

Manchester Capital Management LLC (MCM) is, and has been since its inception, a family office dedicated to helping families sustain their wealth, values, and legacy from generation to generation. MCM began as a private family office that combined the resources of several related families who sought superior, cost-effective investment expertise not available from conventional brokerage firms, banks, or investment houses. Over the ensuing years, Manchester added a number of non-family clients, leading to its registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission in 1993 as a Registered Investment Advisor. Today, MCM primarily serves wealthy families and related foundations, endowments, trusts, and corporate retirement plans. MCM’s core competency is investment management, while also providing a full range of “family office” services which include, wealth-transfer strategies, philanthropic guidance, tax planning, educational programs, family governance, and family meetings. The firm’s clients are located across the country, with a handful overseas. MCM is owned by the partners and clients of the firm, and has no outside shareholders or corporate parent. The firm serves exclusively as its clients’ advocate and integrator of financial affairs and strives to become their trusted advisor. MCM is independent and free from the conflicts of interest that arise when a corporate firm needs to serve the interests of its shareholders ahead of the interests of its clients. The firm works with a fully transparent fee structure based upon the value of the assets under management. MCM does not receive commissions or brokers’ fees based on transactions and does not have any soft-dollar relationships with money managers that might influence MCM’s advice. MCM has four offices: Manchester, Vermont; New York, New York; Montecito, California; and Charlottesville, Virginia.
