Rapidly growing and highly successful CIVIL ENGINEERING AND SPORTS CONSTRUCTION firm based in Austin, TX, with offices and projects located all across Texas and the US, is looking for an experienced full-time CIVIL CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR to support Corporate Headquarters. Qualified candidates will possess 4-5 prior years' experience estimating civil construction projects. Projects range from $500K-$5M.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Construction document review, performing accurate takeoff for civil construction related quantities
- Bidding projects from 200K to $25M (probably not start out with significant large projects, but would work their way there. Most of our projects are around 1.0-1.5M.
- Submitting requests for information to clarify existing conditions and proposed improvement, submission to responsible design professional in a timely manner
- Developing materials and subcontractor resources and relationships in all market areas
- Building estimating; quantity takeoff, subcontractor bid package preparation, solicitation and scope review
- Analyzing and evaluating existing historical cost data to determine pricing
- Providing value engineering options to optimize successful contract award opportunities
- Preparing and soliciting bid requests for subcontractors
- Reviewing quotes for scope compliance and buyout opportunities
- Performing site visits on future bids to determine existing conditions and proposed scope of work
- Attending pre-construction meetings to gather all pertinent data
- Project phase and resource scheduling
- Prepare thorough documentation files for hand off to operations department for implementation of projects
- This position will receive significant Executive and CEO “face time” and mentoring
- Some Travel to job sites will be required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- BACHELOR'S DEGREE FROM ACCREDITED COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY IN CIVIL ENGINEERING, CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT, OR RELATED FIELD
- 4+ YEARS' EXPERIENCE IN CIVIL CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATING TO INCLUDE: ASPHALT, AGGREGATES, FENCING, ELECTRICAL, LANDSCAPING, IRRIGATION, LINER PIPE ETC.
- IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE A CIVIL CONSTRUCTION BACKGROUND.
- Storm and sewer utilities experience preferred
- Knowledge of concrete, asphalt, and landscaping
