  • Responsibilities

    Manifest Solutions is currently seeking a Transmission Technical Writer for a remote position.

    • Participate in the development and timely update/revision of technical standards, processes, procedures, policy documents, and templates.
    • Research, develop, review, and coordinate new procedures and changes to existing procedures.
    • Gather feedback from stakeholders on documentation to improve usability.
    • Coordinate with other departments and organizations during procedure development and revision process.
    • Edit material prepared by SMEs and others while adhering to (and helping to establish) standards of order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
    • Organize moderate to complex technical material from various sources into one cohesive document.
    • Establish procedure writing and revision guidelines and processes.
    • Work with SMEs to analyze processes to build out and develop business process flows in Visio.
    • Learn technical concepts and assist in communicating technical information in a way that is engaging and understood by non-technical customers
    • Build and maintain content and communication structures and formats to assist engineering, design, and other personnel in learning and understanding the organization’s technology as efficiently as possible.

    • Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Engineering, or another four-year degree with emphasis in communication, or related equivalent experience with an Associate Degree. (Equivalency is defined as a minimum of a 2-year Associate's Degree in addition to 2 years of experience in a Quality area or technical role drafting technical documents.)
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in technical writing.
    • Must be self-motivated, organized, and proactive, with a strong attention to detail.
    • Intermediate to advanced computer software skills including Microsoft Office, Visio, Adobe Acrobat DC.
    • Strong filing, organization, recordkeeping and planning, and time management skills; ability to manage multiple assignments at once.
    • Demonstrated experience using advanced style and formatting tools in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel.
    • Demonstrated success working cross-functionally in a self-directed, and remote working environment.
    • Must submit 3 writing samples
