Manifest Solutions is currently seeking a Designer for a hybrid position in New Albany, OH.
- Create, revise and maintain detailed engineering and record drawings, maps and sketches.
- Create, revise and maintain material and property equipment records.
- Obtain information required to perform work from verbal communication, sketches, marked drawings, listings, field notes, vendors' catalogs and technical reference manuals.
- Perform mathematical calculations required to accomplish assigned work.
- Operate reproduction machines, plotters and other duplicating equipment.
- Work with other organizations of the Company to resolve discrepancies and assure that work is performed in a safe and efficient manner.
- Read vendors' prints, shop and other drawings and equipment operating instructions, and incorporate that information into the work being performed.
- Promote and support the Company's Accident Prevention and Safety and Health programs.
- Demonstrate the highest standards of ethical behavior and support the Company's Corporate goals.
- Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Prepare and/or revise Plan and Profile drawings.
- Prepare right-of-way and condemnations drawings.
- Prepare access road map books.
- Produce detail drawings and specialty maps such as 3D assembly drawings, ROW clearing maps, etc.
- Prepare permits including FAA, river crossing, railroad, highway, storm water, etc.
- Prepare large exhibits for public workshops or other presentations.
- Prepare right-of-way parcel maps.
- Prepare exhibits for court cases.
- Enter, update and revise data in TGIS program (ARCGIS).
- Create Project Maps in both Cadd and GIS environments
- File project drawings upon project completion.
- Maintain plotter hardware and supplies.
- Provide CAD software support to department.
- Perform field photography.
- Monitor and Review Transmission Line Engineering’s (TLE’s) Outside Engineering Contractors (OEC’s) on Drawing standards.
- Serve and participate on TLE’s working groups as required.
- Working knowledge of survey data formats and digital elevation models.
- Ability to perform field site visits, as necessary.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in applied science (AAS) drafting and computer aided design (CAD) or in civil, electrical or mechanical engineering technology, or relevant equivalent experience and/or education.
- Equivalent experience without AAS degree – high school graduate and a minimum of 4 years of experience in electric utility and/or related industrial drafting and/or computer aided drafting work.
- Must be familiar with and have an aptitude for computer graphics and automated drawing methods and have the ability to distinguish colors.
- Must possess Cadd/GIS experience and proficiency.
- Must be able to operate a vehicle and possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
- Must meet all vehicle operation requirements as designated by federal and/or state law.
- Proficiency in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD (2D and 3D) is required.
- Proficiency in ARCGIS, Adobe Acrobat and/or Bluebeam, Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) is highly recommended
