Job Description

MANNING & KASS, ELLROD, RAMIREZ, TRESTER, LLP, a top-tier national law firm, is seeking a Law and Motion/Writs and Appeals Associate Attorney in our Downtown Los Angeles headquarters (currently remote due to COVID-19). Our ideal candidate will bring strong analytical, research and writing skills, along with at least four years of law and motion/writs and appeals experience, to support our firm and our clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Research, draft and file case materials, including motions, writs, appeals and briefs.

· Review and recommend cases for appeal, including researching legal errors made by judges, attorneys, or other relevant parties.

· Review and recommend cases for writ petitions.

· Prepare and present motion arguments, including research, review of opposing counsel’s argument, and organizing documents and exhibits.

REQUIREMENTS

· At least 4 years of law and motion/writs and appeals experience.

· J.D. from an accredited law school and current good standing with the California

State bar.

· Proven work experience in law and motion/writs and appeals.

· Demonstrable experience reviewing and identifying cases for writs and appeals.

· Demonstrable experience researching, analyzing, drafting and filing motions, writs and appeals.

· Detail-oriented with excellent research and writing skills.

· Up-to-date with latest trends and best practices in law and motion/writs and appeals.

Kindly note that Manning & Kass attorneys are currently working remotely. This position will be based out of our downtown Los Angeles headquarters post-COVID, with the possibility for remote work available.
