ACE HARDWARE ideal RETAIL SALES ASSOCIATE will be the face of our brand, able to process transactions in an accurate, efficient and courteous manner, while maximizing sales, assisting customers and will work in accordance with the Company’s established policies and procedures

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent customer service
• Accurately and efficiently handle all transactions with customers: including cash, credit, check and gift card
• Issue receipts, refunds, change or tickets
• Make sale referrals, up-sell products and introduce future items
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout station
• Process POS (point of sale) purchases
• Verify cash drawer at the beginning of the shift and accurately balance their own cash drawer
• Remain knowledgeable on products offered and discuss available options
• Properly use and secure two-way radios and headsets as assigned
• Comply with inventory control procedures

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge of retail computer systems, MS Word and Excel a plus

• High School degree

• Sales and marketing experience with retail programs, establishing relationships and working with customers Previous experience in a retail environment either in marketing, sales, or back office. Prior paint department experience is helpful .

• Organize work to complete assignments, maintain accuracy, pay attention to detail and demonstrate customer service standards

• Strong mathematical skills

• Ability to effectively communicate written and verbally

• Ability to perform under pressure

• Availability to work flexible hours'
