Scope:
HVAC Technicians demonstrate proficiency in work involving facility/utility equipment and general building repairs/construction. Emphasis on duties involving preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance in a fast-paced demanding food and beverage manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:
- Uses tools ranging from hand and power tools to precision measuring and alignment instruments and electrical and electronic test equipment.
- Performs routine preventive maintenance activities to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, utility systems operate efficiently and maximize equipment uptime.
- Must be able to perform checks on Trane 250-to-400-ton chillers and be able to troubleshoot the system.
- Troubleshoot glycol pumps for the Trane chiller system.
- Experienced with an in-depth knowledge of utility systems such as compressors, boilers, chillers, and water systems.
- Knowledge of mechanical power transfer systems such as gear reducers, chain/belt drives, direct drives, bearings, shafts, and couplings.
- Knowledge of 480-volt 3-phase power distribution such as transformers, Motor Control Centers, and power panels.
- Basic knowledge of 120- and 24-volt discrete control and 4-20mA analog control systems.
- Knowledge and experience with pneumatic-operated control valve actuators and solenoid devices.
- Documents all work performed, hours, parts, and follow-up work on maintenance work orders.
Qualifications:
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- EPA Universal Certification & HVAC Certification required.
- Basic computer skills with Microsoft applications and CMMS experience.
- Must have 5 years of prior building and utility maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Deep self-motivation and pride in craftsmanship, challenge the status quo.
- 6:00am-2:30pm, M-F, occasional work on a Saturday
