Qualifications
Knowledge and abilities
Ability to:
- demonstrate strong math aptitude;
- interpret machine prints, geometric tolerancing, and dimensioning;
- use a feed & speed chart or a calculator to determine appropriate feeds, speeds, and depth of cuts;
- read blueprints and work from: sketches, diagrams, etc.
- use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers
- work overtime and weekends as work load dictates
Other Qualification
- The physical strength and ability to properly handle tooling and to safely set up large work pieces;
- Own tools of the trade, and the ability to use them effectively Working with engineers to produce quality parts to engineered specification.
Education, qualifications and certifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, technical training and certifications a plus
Experience
- Two - Five years’ experience in large-part set up and machining and blueprint reading
Environment and Working Conditions
Hours
- 2nd Shift: 5:00 pm - 3:00 am
