Manual Machinist

Location: Houston, TX 77095

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our team at our facility in Houston, TX 77095. The ideal candidate will have experience operating manual machines to produce precision parts for various industries.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture machined components by referencing sample parts, blueprints, drawings, or engineering data.
• Operate machines such as the Horizontal Mill, Vertical Turret Lathe, Milling machine, or Engine Lathe.
• Use mathematical knowledge and precision instruments, including calipers and micrometers, to calculate dimensions and tolerances.
• Follow and interpret shop work instructions and procedures.
• Collaborate with quality assurance, manufacturing support, and engineering teams to address and resolve quality issues, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Choose the appropriate tools, machines, and materials for machining tasks.
• Inspect, measure, and test completed parts to identify defects and ensure they meet specifications.
• Successfully complete the Operator Safety Training for Powered Industrial Equipment.
• Be prepared for significant overtime and weekend work.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Manual Machinist
• Experience working with valves
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Strong attention to detail and precision
• Knowledge of machining techniques and tools
• Excellent problem-solving skills

Salary info:

$22 - $28 / hr
